Is everyone here?

Group photographs record both events and allegiances. Those concentrating on events might record, for example, a tourist group gathering at a famous location. The commonality of the group may be of recent origin, and the role of individuals in this group is significant as much for evidence of where they are as for who they are. Group photographs provide us with the camouflage of the group. Our response to such loss of individual identity is ambivalent and resulting photographs can show us both welcoming and rebelling against the dictates of the group. Is everyone here? is a rhetorical question, to which we pose an answer.
