HI MUM!

Group photographs take organising. For the delayed gratification of the photograph, we allow ourselves to be herded into formation. We know that if we stay still and look toward the camera, we will be seen as part of the group. But this is a fairly abstract idea. Children know about standing out in crowds. They’re used to doing it in real life, so why trust the camera? If I wave and say where I am (softly) then she’ll be sure to see me!
