Here we are
with everyone else

Here we are with all the other species, behind the scenes, in two very different rooms, at the Natural History Museum. The Tank Room, in the Darwin Centre, Phase I, is a modern facility, with large glass, specimen jars - many of from Victorian times – and rows of stainless steel tanks, containing animals from jellyfish to crocodiles, swordfish to orangutans. By contrast, Zoology Store 1, in the basement of the Waterhouse Building, is a relic of earlier times. It reflects the kind of storage once commonplace throughout the building and is one of the last surviving examples of a Victorian Store-house existing in Zoology.
